On March 13 The Suburban Players held a very well-attended social evening with A Taste of France...

Impeccably organized by Helen Sutton and Laura Riera, the blue, white, red decorations and the french music set the mood for the evening.  The highlight, though, was the deliciously french menu prepared by chef Guillaume Bianchi:  quiche lorraine with arugula and dijon sauce, boeuf bourgignon, with chocolate eclairs (by Jorge Agote) and chocolate bombes with red fruit sauce as a fitting end to a wonderful meal.  Guillaume was ably  assisted in the kitchen by his son, Martín Zonca and a host of servers who made sure that everyone got their share of the mouth-watering fare.  The food was provided by

An excellent and varied show was also staged, with french poems, well known songs, some classical piano and opera music, and a couple of hilarious dance numbers (including the Moulin Rouge geriatic home can-can) and, to round it all off a glass of champagne!

The bar, run by Ann Lewis and Juan Quiñones was extremely busy all night which probably helped fuel the "festive spirit".  Many congratulations to all those who helped to make this an entertaining evening.
